Accuracy of claims · editorial process

How we decide what to publish — and how to flag what we got wrong.

Every page on this site is reviewed by a human before publication. Specific factual claims (pricing, addresses, names, market data) are verified by Adam Thornton or Zach Sikes directly.

Editorial workflow

Every page goes through the same process before it appears on hcoleasing.com:

01

Draft

AI-assisted drafting using HCO's brand guidelines and verified business inputs (pricing, NAP, team info).

02

Fact verification

Adam Thornton or Zach Sikes verifies factual claims — pricing numbers, service area, team credentials, specific business statements.

03

Voice and tone review

Reviewed against the brand values — transparency, specificity, no marketing fluff.

04

Publication and schema markup

Page goes live with structured data (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, etc.) so search engines and AI tools can parse it accurately.

05

Periodic review

Pricing, services, and policy pages are reviewed at least every 6 months. Local market data on city pages is reviewed annually. The "Last reviewed" date on each page reflects the most recent verification.

Sources

Where our numbers come from.

Pricing. Our own posted rates. Always current; updated when rates change.

Service area. Cities where we actively manage property today. Updated when our service area changes.

Median rent estimates (city pages). Approximations based on HCO's internal leasing data, Zillow Rental Manager data, and Rentometer. Intended for orientation — a specific property gets a specific market rent analysis.

Population figures. US Census estimates (most recent available).

Industry statements ("most property managers do X"). Based on our experience and review of competitor materials in the OKC metro. We don't cite percentages we can't source.

AI disclosure

We use AI to draft. We use humans to verify.

Yes, AI is used as a writing tool on this site. We disclose that directly because pretending otherwise would itself be a transparency failure. Every page is reviewed by a human (Zach or Adam) before publication. Specific factual claims are verified by humans, not generated and shipped.

We do not use AI to make automated tenant decisions, automated owner decisions, or automated pricing decisions. Those are human calls.

FAQ.

Who reviews content before it's published on hcoleasing.com?
Pricing, services, and policy pages are reviewed by both Adam Thornton (Operating Partner) and Zach Sikes (Broker Partner) before publication. Content with specific local-market claims (median rent, neighborhoods, average time-to-lease) is sourced from our internal data and public market sources, and reviewed annually.
Where do HCO's pricing claims come from?
Our published rates (tiered 10% / 9% / 8% management fee, 50% of first month's rent full-service leasing, 2 months' rent leasing-only, $300 per property per year on renewal) are our actual current rates as of 2026-05-19. They are not "starting at" prices or marketing teasers — they are what we charge. When rates change, the Pricing page is updated and the "Last reviewed" date increments.
Where do the median rent figures on city pages come from?
Median rent estimates on city pages are approximations based on our internal leasing data and publicly available rental data (Zillow, Rentometer, BLS housing data). They are intended as orientation — a market rent analysis on a specific property will be more precise.
Does HCO use AI to write its content?
Yes — we use AI as a drafting tool. Every page on this site is reviewed and edited by a human (Zach or Adam) before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content unreviewed. Specific factual claims — pricing, services, addresses, names, schema markup — are written or verified by humans, not AI.
What happens if HCO publishes something inaccurate?
Email [email protected] with the page URL and the inaccuracy. We'll respond within 3 business days, correct factually wrong content within 7 days, and add a "last corrected" note where applicable. We don't argue with verifiable facts.
